August 25th 2017 will mark the day that my new Aria Fiction cover will be revealed! I'm so very excited to share this with you and I'm having to be very restrained and patient - which, if you know me at all, you'll know I don't do with ease!
The story is one that my regular readers may already be familiar with but I sincerely hope it won't stop them from re-reading it. There have been additions to the story in the re-edits that I feel make the story flow better and give it a more solid feel.
Pre-orders will be up on the same date as the cover reveal so watch this space for more information!
I'm very excited to announce that I have recently signed a three book publishing deal with Aria Fiction!
Here is a blog post from their website!
Good afternoon/evening/morning depending on where you are!
I just wanted to stop by and say hello seeing as it's been a while. There has been lots going on behind the scenes here as my agent Tracy at Trace Literary Agency is waiting on news from submissions for a couple of my titles to publishers. We are keeping everything crossed that we will have great news very soon.
I've just returned from my family holiday to my favourite place... you guessed it, the Scottish Highlands. Yes I'm a repeat visitor but wow I do love the place. Whilst I was away my brain was buzzing away thanks to the inspirational scenery and I came up with the story for another book connected to The Worst of Me. It will be a stand alone so watch this space for more! And this will then hopefully form the Sonic Idols Series. Eeek! I'm so very excited about this.
I have also just released the cover for my third Lissa Jay novel which has received wonderful feedback. So along wit completing edits on that and writing you can imagine why I have been absent.
Well, my tea break is over so it's back to the writing folks!
April 21st marks the day I officially release my first self published book! It's been an exciting journey and I've had help from the most wonderful people. My gorgeous cover was designed by The Graphics Shed, My editing was done by the fabulous author Kyra Lennon, my formatting was done by author Grace Harper and my release blitz is being handled by Francessca Webster. Add to this my small team of beta readers and you can see that this has been no solo effort!
As it has been a while since I published my last Lisa J Hobman book (Reasons mini-series) I decided to self publish The Worst of Me and I can't quite believe it's release day tomorrow.
You can still pre-order and grab the book at the reduced price but shortly after it goes live the price will return to 'normal' so now is a good time to grab it!
Thank you everyone who has pre-ordered or read the book as part of the blog blitz! I hope you enjoy Nick and Cat as much as I enjoyed writing them.
Cat reminds me of a female Greg from Bridge Over the Atlantic. She can be taken the wrong way, put her foot in her mouth and come across as a bitch! But she has her reasons and I love that so many people are giving her a chance!
The Worst of me will be coming very soon and it marks my first step into self publishing as a completely independent author. However, my agent is still submitting my other completed novel 'Hydde' (working title) to publishing companies and I hope to have news to share very soon on this too!
I'm very excited to announce that I have acquired a literary agent. This is an exciting step in my journey as an author and I am looking forward to seeing where Tracy of Trace Literary Agency can take me!
Submissions have now begun with my newly completed manuscript - currently called Hydde - but of course this may change once the book is contracted and acquired by an editor.
Hydde is a full length contemporary romance novel set in my favourite city - Edinburgh. I can't wait to introduce you to my new characters and the lives they lead in the capital city of the country I now call home.
This is such a thrilling chapter that I've embarked upon and I will update the page as soon as I have news. As you may already know this process isn't a quick one and so I have to learn to be patient.
Saturday March 14th was my first signing of five this year and what a way to start things off! First of all I want to give a shout out to Rachel and Jo of Hourglass Events for their hard work to organise the day which went off without a hitch! Also to Orchard Book Club for having me at their signing.
The journey from Scotland was a long one and we set off at just before 4am to travel down to Peterborough. My hubby drove and to say our conversations were bizarre on the way down is an understatement! It's funny what topics you cover on a long car journey in the early hours.
Our trip did consist of car singing too. It has to be done. My favourite sing along this time was to "Mr Blue Sky" by ELO - a song that reminds me of my childhood and an ironic choice considering the darkness outside the car! There was car dancing which, thankfully, no one saw due to the time of day! Well that's what I'm telling myself!
The signing began at ten and the pic above shows me with my good friend Louise who came to the event to be my wonderful assistant. This was the calm before the storm! We were all set up and raring to go :-D We had such fun! And only ONE glass of wine too!
I had been in contact with many of the attending authors in groups on Facebook prior to the day and I have to say everyone was just so lovely! There wasn't an ounce of competition or ego. Everyone just got on as if they had known each other for years!
The only down side to the day for me was that I didn't get a chance to properly meet (and hug) every author I hoped to chat to. But as I said this was only the first of FIVE events for me so I have every intention of making up for that!
I was so over tired and a little hyper so as you can imagine I was a wee bit giddy! I may have scared a few of my table visitors with my excitement! But we had so many laughs and I've taken so many happy memories away from the day that I can't wait for the next one in London! Roll on April!
Saturday also saw the cover reveal of my debut erotic novel as Lissa Jay. The feedback on the cover was fantastic! I was overwhelmed and very happy. Below is a slideshow of some of the images from the day...
