I think there is always a fear attached to releasing a book. You're putting your work out there for all to see and scrutinise; and therefore yourself too. This being my second novel is a little more nerve jangling though. I wonder of people will compare this second book to Bridge Over the Atlantic. And I wonder if they will compare the characters.
The two stories are very different. Through the Glass has a little element of suspense to it that Bridge Over the Atlantic didn't have and I'm looking forward to the reactions to this. It was a slightly different direction for me.
The main character, Jim, is someone I could imagine having in my life. And I hope that readers see that in him too. Once again I hope the stunning Scottish landscape is brought to life for my readers as that's something that you all know I'm very passionate about.
So...for the next week or so I will wait for the galley edit with baited breath! And then it's out into the big wide world!
