My book A Summer of New Beginnings was inspired by The Proclaimers song I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) and in 2019 I had the pleasure of meeting them backstage at their gig in Melrose, Scottish Borders.

It was something set up by their wonderful manager, Kenny, who passed them a copy of the book and arranged for me to attend the gig and meet the band backstage!

They were delighted to know that their music had inspired my writing and it was an absolute delight to meet them after being a fan for so long!
